I posted a job but no one ever came back to me?
We try our best to find you a match. This can be due to a number of reasons including -

  • Some homeowners expect a tradesmen and his team to arrive at their home and do a days work for unrealisitic prices.
  • Some homeowners expect to buy all the material themselves and then want to hire expert to do the labour only. Ask yourself - Is there a fair price in this for the trades business?
  • Some homeowners never took the trouble to fill the job request form out fully. If homeowners dont make their job request attractive tradesmen wont believe that they wil be serious about committing to the home improvement project. They therefore reach out to other profiles.
  • How accurate is the pricing displayed on your site, as i get quoted much much more as these prices ?
We try our best to keep content fresh and updated. There are so many many variables that the pricing is merely a demonstration of how to plan your project and how to break down the different individual costs elements of a home improvement project.

How should I choose a tradesman?

    • Look at the ratings of each tradesmen that has applied for your job. This will give you an indication of what other homeowners think of them
    • Check to see that the tradesmen you are using is insured. Insurance is there to cover any costs that come about as a result of unexpected problems
    • Read the feedback from customers for whom the tradesmen has previously worked
    • See if the tradesmen belong to any standard regulatory bodies such as those detailed on public Professional Bodies and Trade Associations available pages
    • Once you have selected a tradesman, ensure that you have agreed a written contract before work commences.

How do I cancel my job?

I submitted my application awhile ago and i still have not heard anything since.I really appreciate your application and each one is reviewed on its own merits to see if we can add value to your business. For example some trades i just dont have enough enquiries for to satify the exclusivity that both tradesmand and homeowner are asking for and therfore the complaining started. When trades that you signed up for do start hitting the playform you wil hear from us.

Can you update me on what trade enquiries you do have availble and need coverage for?
I wil update the tradesman signup page on a monthly basis to show the categories we need tradesman and coverage for.

    Why do I need insurance?
Although it is not legally required to have public liability or professional indemnity insurance, it's good practice and designed to protect you against compensation claims for damage or legal costs should a job run into problems. The value of insurance cover you require depends on your company size of the type of work you carry out.

The best thing to do is contact the homeowner and discuss a resolution with them. If this doesn't resolve the issue, please contact us with details of your issue.

Fake jobs can be reported by visiting the offending posting and clicking "report this job as fake" underneath the map on the right hand side. Reported jobs will be flagged with our administrator who will determine whether the job is real or otherwise.

I have been reviewed unfairly. What can I do?
If you believe you have been given an unfair review, the first thing to do is approach the homeowner who reviewed you. They may have a valid issue with one or more areas of the job you have carried out. If this can be resolved, you both have 5 days to amend your reviews before they are posted on the site.

If it isn't possible to resolve your issues in this way, or, please contact our dispute resolution centre through our contact form.
